Two people survived a Cessna plane crash in Bonnechere Valley on Friday, Sept. 15.
Killaloe OPP says the crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Officers were called to Hyndford Road, where the plane was found upside down after it had taken off from a runway at a private residence.
Police say two people on board were helped by neighbours until rescue workers arrived. Police report the pilot, an 80-year-old from Douglas, was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board was notified of the crash. A Board official says the Board determined a comprehensive investigation was not necessary, but the incident was recorded for future safety analysis and statistical reporting.
