Efforts to start a new senior hockey team in Barry’s Bay are almost past the goal line.
The Madawaska Valley Wolves have announced they’ll make their Eastern Ontario Senior Hockey League home debut on Saturday, Sept. 30.
They’ll take on another EOSHL expansion team, the Centre Hastings Ice Miners, at 7 p.m. at the Paul J. Yakabuski Centre.
In recent days, the Wolves have announced their full home schedule with ticket information and unveiled their logo, which shows the face of a grey wolf, amid trees and a full moon.
The Wolves are part of a growing league, for adult men who have experience playing at elite levels. The EOSHL will have 15 teams this year in small communities throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
