A long-planned park in Killaloe is about to open.
A grand opening for Killaloe Pathways Park is set for Saturday, Sept. 9.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the former Hoch Farm at 80 Queen St.

There, people can check out the Reading Trail, the Fitness Trail and the Orchard Trail, among other features.
The event will have a free barbecue, music and games.
This new park formed after the Township of Killaloe Hagarty Richards and members of Friends of the Library began discussions about opening a reading trail around 2021.
It blossomed into a plan to open a park that would help people with both mental and physical health.
