Syrian refugee expected to call Bancroft home

Some Bancroft residents will be bringing a Syrian refugee family to Bancroft.

Committee Chair for Social Justice Without Borders Judy Edgar says the Jarad family will be brought to the area as the group will have to make sure they can get ESL training, a home, food, and healthcare.

Edgar says it would be very hard to help the family from a distance if they were sent to another community.

The group is still looking to raise $60,000, and will be holding a number of fundraisers.
