Polish Scouts support healthcare

If there’s a scouts’ badge for supporting healthcare, some local ones may qualify for it.

The Polish Scouting Association has donated $755.65 to St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.

The money was raised through sales of homemade bracelets to campers, as well as through a fundraising dance party.

The money was recently turned over to the Foundation, which raises funds for St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care and the Valley Manor long-term care home.

Foundations officials say it’s a reminder of how there are many creative ways to raise funds for health care.
