Barry’s Bay seeing international tourists this summer

Virginia. Pennsylvania. Germany.

People from these far-off places have visited Barry’s Bay this summer. That according to Dairy Freez owner Angie Jessup, during what she says has been a  strong tourism season.

Jessup says the return of international tourists, which were scarce during the Covid years, is great for business owners like her who rely on the busy summer season.

“There are a lot of them out there and they’re travelling in packs and it’s lovely to see,” she says.  “And they ask us where to go next and what to do next and we help them out if we can. We tell them where to go, the good places.”

The guestbook at the tourism centre inside The Railway Station confirms the return of international tourists. Among people who’ve signed in are residents of Frankford, Germany and Washington, D.C.
