Madawaska Valley to launch Wild Goose Chase

Starting next week, keep your eyes open for a goose at a Madawaska Valley landmark or business.

If you see it and report it to the Township, you may win a prize.

The Township’s Hannah Gutoskie explains that the toy goose, named Waddlesworth, is part of a promotion to get people out exploring the area.

“The Wild Goose Chase was the idea of our great programming student, Amelia Brotton,” she says. “She has a very nice goose which will be hidden at local landmarks and businesses every week, for about six weeks.”

“We’re going to post hints of the location of the goose on (the Township’s Facebook page). If you find it in person, you can scan the QR code and enter to win a prize.  Or, if you know where it is, based on clues from Facebook, you can fill out a form from home.”

Each week, a random person who’s correctly identified the goose’s location will be selected for a prize. The prizes, Gutoskie says, have been generously donated from local businesses.
