Hastings County’s MP is in support of changes to Canada’s National Anthem to make it gender neutrality.

Members of parliament recently voted to approve changing the words ‘In all thy son’s commands’ to ‘In all of us commands’ in the O Canada.

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio says these were the original words to the national anthem, but they were changed before World War I for a good reason.

Bossio says it is long overdue to make the lyrics gender neutral again, considering both men and women serve in the armed forces.

The Senate still has to approve the changes to the lyrics.
