New lottery and prize scam being reported to police

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is warning you about a lottery and prize scam.

Police say victims are being contacted and asked for money in order to collect their winnings. No prize money is sent to the victims.

The OPP is reminding everyone legitimate lotteries don’t ask you to pay a fee for your winnings.

If you get a call like this, you should contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
