The Valley Manor will be rockin’ on Friday.
The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation’s Rockathon is taking place there, to raise funds for equipment for the long-term care home.
Foundation Executive Director Erin Gienow says those participating are still gathering pledges.
“Donations can still be made online to support our rockers,” she says. “It’s a Rockathon, so participants are actually rocking in a rocking chair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We have entertainment planned throughout the day, so we do invite the community to come out to the Valley Manor. It’s outside in the courtyard.”
This year’s Rockathon marks a return to tradition. In recent years, due to Covid restrictions, participants had to rock away from residents. But this year they can mingle with residents again.
