Proceeds from the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation Catch the Ace lottery will be used to purchase new equipment for St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Executive Director Erin Gienow says that includes what’s known as a PACS workstation.

“PACS is used in the diagnostic imaging department,” she says. “It’s a Picture Archive and Communications System. It safely stores and secures images, like X-rays and ultrasounds so radiologists can access those results … with a snap of the fingers.”

The lottery program ended last week when Week 35 winner Eva Barnes “caught the Ace.” While she took home more than $70,000, the lottery ended up raising about $103,000 for health care.

It was one of the longest, and most lucrative, lotteries for the Foundation, since it started them in 2019. Two others ended in just Week 9.

Gienow says the Foundation will soon start making the licensing arrangements to launch a new Catch Ace lottery.
