Barry’s Bay residents are being invited to help come up with a new name for two schools that are merging.

Madawaska Valley District High School (MVDHS) and Sherwood Public School are combining into one single JK-12 school, and staff members with the Renfrew County District School Board say a committee is being formed to name the new facility.

Right now, five volunteers are needed: one student from each school, one parent or guardian from each School Council, and another resident.

They’ll be responsible for collecting ideas for a new name from students, staff members and people in the community.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 2nd, and the committee meets for the first time on the 6th. You can contact the principal of either school to apply.
