Some people who make life great in little Killaloe have been recognized.
The Best of Killaloe Awards were handed out recently at the Lions Hall.
The Gold volunteer award when to Rachelle Clayton. It recognizes her work with several groups, including the Ecology Society, the Farmers Market and the Killaloe Lions Club.
The Gold Community Elder went to Terry Walsh, a storyteller who’s known for playing his harmonica at seniors’ homes.
The top Youth Award went to MVDHS student Ruby Kubisewsky and the top Community Organization Award was shared by staff at the Community Resource Centre. Garth’s Kitchen was awarded as the top business of the year.
The awards program, in its second year, asks Killaloe residents to nominate citizens for the awards through community ballot boxes.
