Barry’s Bay will be buzzing with activity this Saturday. Bay Day is back and will have several activities for the whole family in the downtown area from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marcia Rutledge is the chairwoman for the BIA-run event, which is meant to get people out shopping in and enjoying the area.

She says she expects hundreds of people to come out for the festivities, which are made possible through several local businesses that sponsor the event. Bay Day is an annual tradition that was halted during the pandemic but is gaining momentum again after returning last year.

“There really is something for everybody,” she says. “We have the farmer’s market there, the vintage car show. And you can just see everyone out there.”

“(For kids) you can have fun in the bouncy castle, or get your face painted or go home with a balloon animal. It’s lots of fun.”

The Opeongo Line, from the Highway 62 intersection to The Beer Store, will be closed to vehicle traffic, for the activities.
