Killaloe OPP says officers will heavily patrol roads in their area over the next week to watch for bad drivers.

The detachment is recognizing May 16 to 22 as Canada Road Safety Week.

Police will be looking for what they call “The Big 4” issues, which lead to collisions. They are impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and lack of occupant restraint.

The campaign comes amid a rise in road fatalities across Ontario.  The provincial force reports that 359 people were killed on OPP-patrolled roads last year, the highest number in 16 years.
