This weekend was supposed to be an exciting one at Bonnechere Provincial Park, but Mother Nature has other plans.
The park, near Barry’s Bay, is delaying its opening weekend, due to flooding.
A post on the park’s Facebook page shows images of water puddling into a sandy beach and pools of water in a wooded picnic area.
The post says campers who had booked to stay there this weekend will be given refunds. Staff say they’ll monitor conditions and aim to open the park on Friday, May 19.
