A new hockey league says it’s coming to our town.
The Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League announced, in a recent Facebook post, that it will put an expansion team in Barry’s Bay next season.
The league currently has 12 teams throughout Eastern Ontario. The post says new teams are also coming to Centre Hasting, Marmora and Fort Coulonge, Quebec.
The EOSHL is considered Senior A hockey, meaning it’s an amateur league, but with high-caliber adult players.
A league official and a Madawaska Valley Township official weren’t available for comment Monday. MyBarrysBayNow.com will try to get more on this later in the week.
