Our local public school board trustees are postponing any decisions on possible school closures in North Hastings.

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board trustees decided at a meeting it would not be approving a draft proposal that would see some recommendations to close and amalgamate certain schools.

The draft holds information about the possibility of sending students from Coe Hill and Hermon Public Schools to York River Public School, and students from Maynooth Public School to Bird’s Creek Public School.

Board members have decided to continue to review the draft document until September 30th. The board says this will also give people time to provide more input.
