An Eganville man is facing drunk driving charges, after a serious collision left a passenger with life threatening injuries.

Killaloe OPP says the crash occurred on Grist Mill Road, near Wilkens Road, in North Algona Wilberforce just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The driver lost control and the car rolled over. A 40-year-old passenger from Admaston-Bromley Township had to be airlifted to hospital.

The driver, a 24-year-old, was not injured. But he was taken to the detachment for testing and later charged with operating a car with a blood alcohol level over the limit, plus two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

He was released and given a court date of May 10.
