MV residents needed for Waste Management committee

Madawaska Valley’s Operations Manager hopes people who are passionate about the environment and waste diversion will step up for their community.

Hilary Kutchkoskie says the Township is looking for community members to join a public liaison committee for waste management. 

The committee will be a subcommittee of council and will look at what’s happening at the Bark Lake Disposal Site. 

Kutchkoskie says it’s important work, given that a recent consultant’s report says the landfill is filling quicker than expected and could become full within about a decade. 

Kutchkoskie says the committee might explore waste diversion opportunities or ways to improve services at the site.
