With heavy snow expected tonight, Hydro One is getting ready to respond to power outages.

The company says it’s anticipating damaging ice storms in some parts of southern Ontario today and tomorrow and crews are being put into positions to help.

Hydro One has a number of tools people can use to report outages, including texting 92887 or WATTS.

It’s encouraging people to have an emergency kit handy, with items such as food, batteries and blankets.

It also asks people to stay clear of any downed power lines and report them to Hydro One or call 911.

Environment Canada has a Snowfall Warning in effect for Barry’s Bay area, as 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall Wednesday night and into Thursday. Roads are expected to be slippery.
