St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation’s Catch the Ace lottery is entering Week 20 with the ace of spades still in play.
Linda Kosnaskie, of Combermere, was the Week 19 winner. She won a prize of just under $1,200. But when she flipped over a card, the ace didn’t turn up, so the lottery continues and the jackpot will grow bigger.
Five-dollar tickets for the lottery are being sold at several Madawaska Valley-area stores.
A portion of sales goes to the winner of a weekly draw, and another portion goes to a jackpot, which will be awarded when the ace of spades is found.
Another portion of the sales goes to support health care.
The Week 20 prize is estimated at $1,250 and if that winner finds the ace of spades they’ll also win a jackpot that now exceeds $28,000.
