The Ontario Winter Games, hosted by Renfrew County, are now underway.
Athletes and organizers participated in a – if anything – very memorable opening ceremony in blizzard and white-out like conditions at Ma-te-Way Park in Renfrew last night.
Paralympian Todd Nicholson and Olympic volleyball player Regyna Armonas used the Games torch to light the cauldron, signalling the start.

There are several competitions this weekend and one nearby is the fencing competition taking place at Opeongo High School, outside of Eganville. It runs Friday to Sunday.
More information on the games, including schedules, can be found here.
