Hockey fans in Barry’s Bay have a special treat coming this weekend and next.

The Valley Timberwolves Junior B club are playing two games at the  Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre.

This Sunday, they’ll take on the White Water Kings and next Sunday they’ll play the Carleton Place Canadians. Puck drop for both games is 4 p.m.

The Timberwolves are based out of Eganville, but there are five Barry’s Bay-area players on their roster. Those players are Curtis Fabian, Jack Peplinskie, Spencer Ryan and co-captains Jack Shulist and Matthew Shulist.

Madawaska Valley councillor – and local hockey enthusiasts – David Shulist made a call to some ‘Wolves officials and got them to agree to play some games at the newly renovated Yakabuski Centre.

Tickets are $10. Part of the proceeds will be used to support Gavin Recoski and his father, Mike. Those members of the well-known Eganville hockey family are recovering from injuries after a serious car crash.
