Two people are facing a number of charges after shoplifting was reported at the Walmart in the Laurentian Valley.

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says Walmart staff contacted police about a woman not paying for items from the store.

Police found the 25-year-old Pembroke woman, along with a 24-year-old  Laurentian Valley man, in the parking lot. They were found to be in possession of drugs.

Both now face charges of possession of meth and fentanyl. The woman also faces charges of theft and property obtained by crime.

Both have been released on a promise to appear in Pembroke Court at the end of the month.
