Get your shovels ready and prepare to bunker down.

Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Barry’s Bay region.

Five centimetres of snow is expected during the day, but the snow will get heavier tonight with another 10 to 20 centimetres anticipated.

Conditions could still be hazardous tomorrow with snow and local blowing snow. Another 5 to 10 centimeres could fall.

Roads will likely be slippery and visibility poor.

Public Safety Canada says now’s a good time to have an emergency kit – with food, water and medicine – prepared.
