Future students to Madawaska Valley District High School can get a “Waska Welcome” on Thursday night.
The school’s Waska Welcome event takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thuraday, Nov. 24. The event allows Grade 7 and 8 students from its feeder schools and their families to come by and get to know the place, before they enroll there.
The event includes a spaghetti dinner, a tour of the school and some other activities.
Principal Jennifer Schooley says it’s a great event because many families may not realize how much the school has to offer. MVDHS offers several courses that can prepare students for university, as well as trades courses.
Students will be able to check out shop and science classrooms. The event also allows families to see recent renovations made to the school.
MVDHS is located at 341 John Street in Barry’s Bay.
Those coming are asked to RSVP by calling the school in advance.
