Killaloe OPP respond to deer collisions and break and enter

Swerving to avoid an animal can cost you dearly. Killaloe OPP is reminding drivers that after two deer-related collisions last week.  

Last Tuesday, police were called to a pickup truck crash on Highway 50 in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards at 5:30 p.m. A driver swerved to avoid a deer and hit a guardrail. There were no injuries, but the truck had to be towed.  

And last Thursday, police were called to Combermere Road in Madawaska Valley at 2 p.m. where, again, a driver swerved for a deer and hit a guardrail. There were minor injuries and the vehicle was towed.

Police say if you swerve to avoid an animal, you can lose control and be at greater risk of injury. 

Also, Killaloe OPP is asking for the public’s help in a break and enter case at a waste disposal site. 

Police were called to the Township of Brudenell, Lyncoch and Raglan site 1 p.m. on Saturday. A shed was entered and various tools and a heater were reported stolen. 

Anyone with information is asked to call OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
