It’s that time of year again, when we can visually show our appreciation for soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada. The Barry’s Bay Royal Canadian Legion is starting its poppy campaign on Friday, Oct. 28.
Campaign Chair Heather Poliquin says volunteers will begin distributing poppies and cash donation boxes at local businesses and schools. Money raised will support local veterans and their families.
And plans for the Remembrance Day ceremony are also in the works now. The event takes place at the Legion at 250 John Street on Friday, Nov. 11. Those attending are asked to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m.
