Our local MPP says the provincial government may look to hide the cost of its cap-and-trade program.
In a release, Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski says the Ontario Energy Board is looking to hide the cost in the summary of delivery charges on natural gas bills.
The information was publicized in the document ‘Staff Discussion Paper on a Cap and Trade Regulatory Framework for the Natural Gas Utilities.’
Yakabuski says Ontarians deserve to know why their natural gas bills are going up.
He is asking that the cost of the cap and trade program be listed as separate item on everyone’s natural gas bill.
