A Renfrew County man is now facing a second-degree murder charge, related to the death of woman last January.

David Michael Dubois has had his charge upgraded. The move was announced by Renfrew County OPP over the weekend. Previously, Dubois was facing an attempted murder charge.

Police were called to an Arnprior residence, back on Jan. 4, 2022.  Thirty-two-year-old Sara McKeddie was taken to hospital via air ambulance with life-threatening injuries. She would die of the injuries about two weeks later.

Dubois, also 32 years old, was from the McNab and Braeside area, police say. He was arrested shortly after the incident and has been in custody since.
