Some Renfrew County residents are doing their part to weather future waves of COVID-19.

A recent clinic for the new bivalent vaccine in Barry’s Bay was well attended, Renfrew County District Health Unit officials say.

As September came to a close, about 900 residents across the county had received a booster dose of the new, more efficient vaccine.

Going forward, Madawaska Valley adults can book an appointment for Covid vaccines  through the health unit’s website. Clinics will continue in Bary’s Bay every other week throughout the fall.

Parents of children six months to four years old can walk into Barry’s Bay clinics to receive vaccines for their little ones.

Demand for the vaccine in Renfrew County is comparable to the rest of the province, the health unit says.
