BARRY’S BAY: Here’s some news to smile about. Smile Cookies purchased at the Barry’s Bay Tim Hortons this week will support local healthcare needs.

Proceeds from the $1 cookies will go to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. The foundation raises funds for partners, including the Valley Manor, Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care and St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Franchise owner Jason Armstrong said he chose to support the foundation because many people don’t realize how important healthcare funding is, until they need it themselves.

The goal is to raise $5,000 this week by selling 5,000 cookies.
