It’s not just the siding that is being replaced at the Train Station in Barry’s Bay.

Hilary Kutchkoskie, Operations Manager with Madawaska Valley Township, says while replacing the wooden exterior is a large part of the job, there will be other upgrades to the historic site. The front door will be replaced with an automatic door that will put the location in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

In addition, the attic and siding will have insulation added, and many of the windows will also be replaced. All siding will retain its distinct red colour, listed in the Township’s tender as “CN Red”.

The Township has allocated over $141,000 for the Station’s upgrades and the contract was awarded the Quality Homes and Renovation.
