Opeongo Snowbirds puts out call for volunteers

You may not be thinking about snow right now, but the local snowmobile club wants you to think about them.

The Opeongo Snowbirds are looking for two people who are in need of community hours to help grow their volunteer base. The club wants to “re-energize” their crew, bring in new volunteers and bring back old ones as well. Volunteers would conduct outreach to people and businesses that will help support snowmobiling in the region.

The group says the position can be done from home and may take up to 15 hours spread out through the month of August. To volunteer, contact Lynn at [email protected].

The Snowbirds maintain the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trails in Madawaska Valley and South Algonquin areas. Volunteers often are tasked with maintaining and grooming the trails in the winter months.
