The Renfrew County housing market continued to cool in June.

The Renfrew County Real Estate Board says that home sales for the month of June were down nearly 20 percent this year. Home sales were 25 percent below the five-year average. Home sales for the first six months of the year have also decreased by a quarter from last year.

The average home price is now around $485,000. This is down from its peak of over $500,000 in March.

Listings have taken a hit, with the number of active listings down nearly 70 percent below the average for June. The board says this is the lowest active listings have been in over two decades for the month.
