The province’s hydro provider has helped a local educational centre stay afloat.

The Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre says they have received a total of $10,000 to their organization from Ontario Power Generation (OPG). The money goes to supporting the Centre’s cause of providing environmental stewardship and experimental learning.

Fred Blackstein, Co-Chair of the Centre, says that the funding from OPG has allowed them to operate through challenging times. Representatives from OPG say they are committed to supporting environmental education and stewardship.

The Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre says they see over 3500 students and members of the public go through their programs every year.
