Health unit wants kids to be safe

Hastings County’s health unit wants you to know how to prevent childhood injuries.

Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health is recognizing the 20^th Annual Safe Kids Week, saying every nine hours a Canadian’s child’s life is cut short by a preventable injury.

The health unit says an average of 241 children aged 14 and under die each year from preventable injuries, although that number has been declining over the past 10 years.
