If you’re a small business looking to have more of an online presence, you’ll soon be able to get access to some free advice.

Several townships in the region have received a grant to start a two-year-long Digital Service Squad Program. Starting on August 1st, a member of this squad will work their way down Highway 60, visiting brick-and-mortar businesses in the region. The squad member will help with basic website setup and Google business tools, and help businesses increase their online presence. They will also help businesses apply for grants of up to $2,500.

The program is part of the Digital Main Street program, which is a part of the Ontario Business in Action Association. The grant is available for those in the Rural Community Cooperative, which is a partnership between Madawaska Valley, Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards, Brudenell-Lyndoch-Raglan, Bonnechere Valley and North Algona Wilberforce.
