Another cell tower may be going up in the region, pending a review from Hastings Highlands.

Rogers Communication has asked the municipality to approve a cell tower at 68 Steeles Road, just off Madawaska Road. Rogers is proposing a 91-meter tall tower be installed at that location and will need approval from the township. The tower is part of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network, which plans to improve connectivity throughout the region.

Council has appointed the township’s municipal planner to look over the proposal. The planner will begin the public consultation process, which is required by the township’s bylaws.
