Election day comes to Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke

The day has arrived to cast your ballot in the provincial election.

Polling stations will be open throughout the province from 9 AM until 9 PM. ID will be required for voting. Valid ID includes an Ontario photo ID card or a driver’s licence. Students can use their school admission letters or school tuition fee statement. Bank statements, utility bills, or cell phone bills can also be used to verify your identity to get you on the voter’s list.

Residents in Barry’s Bay will be casting their votes at the Opeongo Senior’s Centre. Other poll locations in the region include the Combermere Community Centre, the Madawaska Complex, the Lester B Smith Community Centre in Whitney, The Quadeville and Palmer Rapids Community Centres, the Killaloe Court Room, the Round Lake Rec Centre, the Makwa Community Centre in Pikwakanagan, the Golden Lake Municipal Centre, the Rankin Culture Centre, Eganville Legion Branch 353, and St. Anne’s Parish Hall in Cormac.

According to the Returning Officer in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, just under 13,000 residents cast their votes in advanced polls. According to Elections Ontario, this comes out to 12 per cent of the electorate.
