While there may have been less damage in Madawaska Valley after this weekend’s storm compared to other regions, the Township has still been affected.
Staff report that their email service is down, and says it is directly related to the outages in Ottawa. They cannot send or receive emails, and will not be able to until power is restored in the city.
Hydro One reports only a few small outages around the region. None of them have estimated repair times as the power service deals with storm cleanup.
Meanwhile, Renfrew OPP confirmed that a 44-year-old died in Greater Madawaska Township after being struck by a falling tree during the storm. As of writing, 2,400 customers are out of power in that township.
