Stationkeepers launching fundraising campaign for new play structure

They have the approval to do it, now all the Madawaska Valley Stationkeepers need is the money.

Joanne Olsen, Stationkeeper MV President, says they want to raise $12,000 towards a new children’s play structure in Water Tower Park. Olsen says they have permission from the township to build the structure but have yet to pick a site.

All the funds raised will go directly to buying materials to build the structure, while they are hoping to get volunteers to build the new installation. They plan to raise the money through letter-writing and outreach programs.

In addition to the new play structure, the Stationkeepers have prepared two new exhibits at the Barry’s Bay Train Station. They include new train artifacts as well as presentations on notable town residents throughout Barry’s Bay’s history.
