Bancroft working to make sure sewer lines are capped after demolitions

Bancroft staff wants to make sure sewer lines are capped after buildings are demolished.

The Committee of the Whole heard information from Public Work Manager Perry Kelly, saying some sewer lines in Bancroft were not capped after demolition.

Kelly says this leaves the sewer system vulnerable to infiltration, which could lead into the treatment facility and increase the cost of processing.

The public works department is working to cap all abandoned lines.
