All ice in Renfrew County unsafe to be on, says Ministry

All ice on lakes and rivers should be avoided, according to the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.

The Ministry has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement for water safety. Ice is now breaking up on lakes and rivers, and will result in increased water flows. The Ministry warns to stay clear of ice and keep a close eye on pets and children. Rain over the weekend has also contributed to higher elevations of water.

The Water Safety Statement will be in effect until Thursday.
