A local group of gardeners will get a boost to their finances.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski announced that as a part of the 2022 Agricultural and Horticultural Support and Recovery Funding Initiative, the group will receive $1,000 to help the organization continue to operate. Yakabuski says the funds will continue to ensure the club formerly known as the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society will continue its work.
While several other horticultural societies received funding, the biggest recipients of the announcements were various agricultural societies in Renfrew County. These include the Agricultural Societies of Arnprior, Beachburg, Renfrew and Cobden.
