Work connecting Renfrew and Hastings County trails is up for discussion at the Renfrew County ATV (RCATV) Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGM will take place in Petawawa at the Civic Centre on April 9th. RCATV Club President Teresa Hebb says it is the first time in two years they have been able to meet face to face. Guest speakers will talk about the trail systems that are expanding in the region, which include continuing work linking the Hastings Heritage Trail to new connecting trails through Combermere. Madawaska Valley Township signed a memorandum of understanding with the club last year that allowed them to expand the Thomas P. Murray trail.

In addition, with the Trail Director for Madawaska Valley completing his term, that position, as well as the position for South Algonquin, is open for election. Hebb says they are looking for nominees who enjoy being on the tails in that area and want to help support the local economy.

The AGM will include an afternoon trail team orientation where those who can’t make the morning sessions can get info on what equipment is available and what projects will be prioritized this year. The AGM will also be on Facebook Live for those who want to stay up to date, although only members of the club can vote at the meeting.
