The County of Renfrew has a number of projects it wants to get started in our area this year.

The County’s Operations Committee has laid out a few road and structures projects, and how much they would cost. One of the largest is a $1.1 million dollar project for Dafoe Road (County Road 517). A portion of Simpson Pit Road south of Round Lake Centre is allocated a $781,000 budget. In addition, a chunk of Highway 62 between the county line and Combermere has been identified as a road project to get underway this year.

Of the bridge and culvert projects, $1.1 million has been budgeted for work on the Etmanskie Swamp Culvert. The Dam Lake Bridge, Schimmens Creek Bridge and the Pilgrim Road Bridge have all been listed to have work done this year, with an allocated $380,000 budget combined.

No details or timelines for these projects have been given as of yet. They will be discussed at the next County Council meeting.
