Bonnechere Valley Fire Department to require inspection as provincial fire season starts

April 1st is the start of the provincial fire season, and the Bonnechere Valley Fire Department is urging people to read their burn permits closely.

They remind residents that their burn permits are not valid unless their site is inspected beforehand. They also say that burning must happen on the date that is specified, and must also give the department 48 hours in advance so the inspector can visit the site. They remind permit holders that contact information for the department can be found on the document.

Provincial fire season lasts from April 1st until October 31st.
