Renfrew County SPCA taking part in first re-homing mission for US dogs

You may soon own one of 26 US dogs looking for a loving home in Ontario.

The Renfrew County SPCA is taking part in the first re-homing mission in 2022. 26 dogs from North Carolina will be looking for loving homes across the province. Each animal has undergone a wellness examination, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and microchipped.

The dogs are here to make room in animal shelters south of the border. Transfer Team Lead for the SPCA Bonnie Bishop says many shelters in the US are at capacity, and the organization is helping those centres make room for others by finding homes for animals in Ontario.

Those looking to adopt a dog will need to visit the SPCA website.
